Why pick me?
I realize positions in the gaming industry are hard to come by, but I know I’m qualified enough to stand out among other candidates.
My passion for the industry is without a doubt, but passion aside I have the skills and experience necessary to thrive as part of your company.
Important Skills
Experienced in all things data
As part of my research experiences, I’ve gained direct experience doing all of the following: data collection, processing & cleaning, coding, analysis, presentation, and professional writing. I’m highly familiar with coding in Stata and R and using MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. While my experience in other languages (i.e. Python, C++, Java) is limited, I have preliminary experience and am excited to learn new ways to code. I’m also highly familiar in presenting findings to others, being well-versed in altering communications to fit my audience and explaining processes in succinct and accurate ways, whether it be through spoken word or written communications.
Fluent in Korean
Thanks to my parents, I’m fluent in both Korean and English (reading and writing). I also have a general understanding of Korean culture and social norms. I’m open to traveling for work and I’m not particularly picky about the destination, and my familiarity with Korean language and culture would give me a leg up in any international business.
Proven record in leadership excellence
I’ve held leadership positions in organizations of varying sizes, and in all of them I was able to bring about meaningful improvements, both short-term and long-term. Whether the team I’m leading was completely new or has an existing structure, I’ve demonstrated that I can bring out the best in others and lead organized, timely projects and programs.
I’m also familiar working with both peers and those that hold administrative or executive positions, including alumni, university faculty, and deans, and I’m confident that I could translate this experience into being a useful communicator with shareholders and higher-ups in any context.
I’m friendly and sociable!
Despite my interests in data and video games, I’d like to think I’m a pretty sociable guy! Especially in an office space, I think being someone who can talk about their hobbies or what they did over the weekend is important to building trust and improving teamwork. Having friends where I work is important to me, so I’m not someone who’s going to put their head down and talk only when needed - I’m excited about this industry and all the people I’d get to meet as part of it!
